Latest Updates from Our Project:

Just for fun update, vlog
about 5 years ago – Sun, Mar 10, 2019 at 09:11:47 PM

Hello Glorious backers! This is a just for fun, unimportant update with no critical information :)

Been working on a few things in the background here, can't say too much about it, but I can ramble philosophically about them so I decided to make another vlog. Also promised in my last video to talk about optics and game design trickery. So I went ahead and did that.

Shout out to a cool discussion about the game on Board Game Geek (BGG). This thread reflects some of the ways I think through the game and I think it is pretty smart:

50% milestone and design philosophy vlog: monopoly, dry erase, player elimination, sandbox play
about 5 years ago – Sun, Mar 10, 2019 at 09:09:28 PM

Backers and KS community- we are now 50% funded!

This is only day 3 -and we are an absolutely new, independent brand- so that's a confidence and morale boost. But, I mustn't be complacent! Thank you very much to the backers over the last couple of days that got us over the 1/2 mark. That we did this over 3 days means good things for our success rate and stretch goals, according to kickstarter statistics. I've also got some messages from community members with more experience than me, giving me the 'good job' and friendly advice. This is a very excellent community.

I am stoked to keep working on our numbers over the next couple of weeks. After our first week, I will communicate out another update. For now, here is my second vlog in which I discuss Monopoly, how to be good at a game, dry erase markers and tracking materials, player elimination, player agency, and how to help players have fun even when they don't win!

Lots of action on the first day, and go forward strategy

To our Glorious Backers and Followers:

Thanks everyone for your interest in the project! The first day was fascinating, exciting, nerve-wracking, and inspiring.

We have 1/3 of our goal and ~450 project followers. I interpret this to mean that there is opportunity to convert followers by or at the end of the campaign. There's a lot of potential energy there. My job is to give those followers, and backers, the confidence that we are going to get to the finish line. If I can do that, I bet we can grab a lot of followers converting and run up a stretch goal or two.

Let me take a moment to gush my appreciation- the first set of backers are incredibly important to build a base for the campaign. So thank you very much.

Going forward, I plan to share some of my design philosophy, make a creator video or two looking into the camera and sharing my thoughts on how/why the game is fun and who might really get a kick out of it. I took my education in philosophy, so look out! It could get a little fancy.

For my first set of backers, allow me to share a few high res card images that haven't been seen yet. I will link the full list of card images on the campaign page later today, but here's a first sneak peak.

100% funding goal reached!

Glorious backers- we are funded!! There has been steady momentum through the middle of the campaign, for which I am very grateful. Thanks all for the engagement =]

Behind the scenes, Hogg Publishing is working on several elements that polish or expand the product. Some of them respond to backer inquiries. Nothing to reveal yet, but there's lots going on in the background, including getting ready for best chances at fastest delivery. Lots to do, and lots of fun! It's been a ride, and it's not over yet!

Progress report: playthrough video plans, and design philosophy vlog3
about 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 25, 2019 at 10:06:59 AM

Hello Glorious backers! We are now 2/3 funded (day 7) at $10,000 CAD. We've got some presence on relevant websites like kicktraq and boardgamegeek.com. Like the last update-- let me spare a word to say that this is an absolutely new brand, fresh eyes, not a part of the board game convention circuit or news cycles. So-- thank you so so much for taking a look at what Glory and Hogg Publishing have to offer.

Playthrough video: plans are hatching for a gameplay of 3-4 players who have never played the game before...

Local excitement: the board game cafe here in Grande Prairie, Alberta has been very supportive. We are planning to shoot the playthrough at the cafe 'after hours'. We all know that board games are about socializing, and therefore community. I am stoked to have a potential community board game collaboration. This playthrough will almost certainly occur Feb20 or Feb21 (next Wednesday/Thursday), when the establishment is otherwise closed.

Vlog: YOU CAN SKIP TO 5:27 IF YOU'VE SEEN THE OTHER VLOGS!

It's recap/agenda up until then. But after that, I keep my previous promise to get deep and talk about the relationship between wisdom and courage... Very excited to see if I'm able to articulate what's so interesting about these concepts, and how they relate to Glory!
